Q

Is there a risk of electric shock if you use a wire to access the Internet? Will it cause damage to my computer?

A

PLC technology uses 220V voltage power lines to transmit data signals. In the process of use, the user will worry whether it will damage the computer or even threaten personal safety. PLC equipment has taken a variety of protective measures to ensure the absolute safety of equipment use: The high frequency signal is coupled to and separated from the power line by the coil coupling principle. The transmission line of data signal in PLC equipment is not directly connected with the 220V wire. ⑵ In the circuit design, the strong and weak circuits are designed separately to ensure that there will be no high voltage in the signal line. (3) The overvoltage protection device is set in the circuit of PLC equipment to avoid the harm to the computer and the user due to induction or short circuit.

Q

To use PLC to surf the Internet need to add what equipment?

A

There are two kinds of equipment that need to be added to the Internet with PLC: the office equipment that needs PLC and the PLC modem. Among them, the PLC modem is placed in the user's home, and the office equipment is generally placed in the distribution room of the building. One office unit can tow dozens of PLC modems.

Q

How much Internet speed can you achieve with PLC?

A

Generally, the PLC equipment produced by different manufacturers can reach different speeds. The PLC products produced by Ascom of Switzerland can reach the maximum speed of 4.5Mbps, the PLC products produced by Xeline of Korea and Fujian Institute of Electrical Science and Technology of China can reach the maximum speed of 14Mbps, and the products of DS2 of Spain can reach 45Mbps.。

Q

How do I connect my computer to my PLC modem?

A

Usually PLC modems come with 10/100M RJ-45 Ethernet port and USB port. Computers with Ethernet cards and USB interfaces can be very convenient to connect with it.

Q

How about the transmission distance of PLC?

A

When the power line is empty, point-to-point PLC signals can be transmitted for several kilometers. But when the load is heavy on the power line, it can only transmit one or two hundred meters. At present, PLC is not suitable for long-distance data transmission, but if only in the building application, to solve the "last 100 meters" of the household problem, or fully competent.
